... As appointed travel agents to the Welsh Deaf Rugby Union, we are pleased to provide the following information in support of the 2nd Deaf Rugby World Championship to Wales in 2005. Company Background Travel City Sport is a specialist division of the Travel City Group, which is the largest travel company in Wales. The Group includes tour companies operating to the Mediterranean and Florida (the Florida operation now being the second biggest in the United Kingdom), four telesales centres, fifteen retail office and Travel City International, which caters for corporate, sport and group travel customers. The combined sales turnover of the Group is expected to exceed £200 million this year. We have considerable experience in the rugby travel market, acting as official travel agents to the majority of the WRU Premier Division club, including Bridgend, Cardiff, Ebbw Vale, Llanelli, Newport, Pontypridd and Swansea. We are also a leading operator of supporters programmes for the Six Nations, Rugby World Cup and British Lions tours. Tournament Travel Controller The travel operations for the 2nd Deaf Rugby World Championships would be controlled by Jim Strachan, who has been involved with sport travel for over 30 years. This experience had included management of the Welsh Rugby Union's travel requirements, together with direct responsibility for the travel arrangements of all the participating teams in the Rugby World Cup of 1995 and 1999. Championship Travel Management Travel City Sport will co-ordinate the travel and accommodation requirements for each participating team. This will include the following:
Package Travel Costs In view of the fact that the 2nd Deaf Rugby World Championships is three years ahead, we cannot give any indication of costs at present; we are also hoping that in the course of the next 12 months or so, we may be able to attract airline and/or hotel sponsors, which will result in cost reductions. However Travel City Sport will negotiate the best possible prices for air fares, accommodation and coach transport, so as to ensure that each team will provided with a value-for-money inclusive price. Friends, Families & Supporters We are aware that there are likely to be friends, families and supporters who would like to come to Wales for the Tournament, as well as visiting other parts of the UK and Europe. We would therefore be happy to offer our service in arranging inclusive package, or simply hotel accommodation, sightseeing tours, car hire etc as required. ...
